7.0 Earthquake Shakes New Zealand 5/07/2012
In light of last nights earthquake, we've got tremors on the brain, and several powerful visualizations of earth shaking data have come to light.
This one on the Christchurch quakes is distressingly varied, intense and lengthy. Our hearts go out to everyone dealing with both the quakes themselves and the trying aftermath.
This video shows the progress and intensity of the Japan earthquakes that caused the devastating tsunami in March of last year. It just goes to show how powerful visualizations are, where no language is necessary to describe the magnitude of the shaking. Frightening stuff.
